Tragically, a Mexican woman who flew 3,000 miles to Peru to meet a man she connected with online was slaughtered, dismembered, and her organs were taken. Blanca Arellano, aged 51, embarked on the journey from Mexico City to Lima, Peru, to meet Juan Pablo Jesus Villafuerte Pinto, a 37-year-old student in the field of human medicine and biotechnology, whom she had met on a gaming app.
They had been in an online relationship for several months before Arellano traveled to meet him in hopes of finding love. After spending a week with Villafuerte and informing her niece that she had fallen in love with him, Arellano went missing, and her family couldn’t reach her. This prompted her niece, Karla Arellano, to take to Twitter seeking assistance in locating her missing aunt.
Karla Arellano, in her quest for answers, contacted Villafuerte, the man her aunt traveled to meet. He claimed that her aunt got bored of him as he couldn’t provide the life she desired and had left to return to Mexico. However, on November 9, the worst fears of Blanca Arellano’s family were confirmed. A headless female head and a severed finger with a silver ring, minus the fingertip, were discovered near where Villafuerte resided in Huacho, Peru. A torso without organs was also located at the end of a canal flowing into the sea. The canal passes in front of Jose Faustino Sanchez Carrion National University, where Villafuerte is a student.
Forensic experts found that the victim’s face had been surgically removed. Traces of Blanca Arellano’s blood were detected throughout Villafuerte’s apartment. He allegedly posted videos of her organs on TikTok days after her disappearance. Villafuerte has been arrested on charges of femicide, human trafficking, and organ trafficking, although he denies involvement in the crime. He is currently in police custody as the investigation continues.
