Award-winning actor and Black Panther star, Chadwick Boseman will be honored with a posthumous star on the renowned Hollywood Walk of Fame. This tribute comes three years after his unfortunate passing from colon cancer at the age of 43.
Renowned for his portrayal of the superhero Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe from 2016 to 2019, Boseman joins a list of iconic celebrities set to be immortalized on the historic landmark in 2024. This distinguished group also includes Michelle Yeoh, Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Christina Ricci, Ken Jeong, Kerry Washington, Gwen Stefani, Eugene Levy, Mario Lopez, and Sheryl Lee Ralph.
The announcement was made by the Walk of Fame Selection Panel of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which carefully selects honorees representing various entertainment genres. Chair and Walk of Fame member, Ellen K, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming unveiling, remarking on the exceptional talent of the chosen individuals.
Apart from his role in Black Panther, Boseman’s repertoire includes notable performances in films such as 42, Marshall, Get on Up, and Draft Day. Diagnosed with stage three cancer in 2016, Boseman valiantly battled the disease with numerous surgeries and chemotherapy, as stated by his family.
