After DJ Mustard filed for divorce just a year and a half after their marriage, Chanel Thierry, his estranged partner, has decided to speak out.
The prominent music producer initiated the divorce process in the Los Angeles County Courts, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split, just 19 months after getting married.
Mustard has specified that they had a pre-marital agreement and has requested the division of property and cash according to it. Additionally, he wants his “jewelry and other personal effects” to be designated as his sole and separate property, as well as all “earning and accumulations” from before, during, and after their marriage, as mentioned in The Blast.
Chanel expressed her sentiments about Mustard’s decision to file for divorce, saying it is “more than heartbreaking.”
Mustard and Chanel had been in a relationship for several years, beginning when he was 19 and eventually getting engaged in 2018.
On Tuesday, May 3, Chanel confirmed the divorce reports and thanked everyone for their support, emphasizing her unwavering dedication to her family over the past 12 years.
Mustard and Chanel had a lavish wedding ceremony in October 2020, attended by several notable music stars including Ella Mai, Bow Wow, and Joie Chavis.
Referred to as Dijon McFarlane in real life, Mustard and Chanel Thierry are parents to three children aged 2 to 10, with Mustard seeking joint legal and physical custody.
