Former Boston Bruins NHL star, Jimmy Hayes dies suddenly at home hours after celebrating his son's birthday 

The sudden passing of Jimmy Hayes, a former NHL star celebrated for his time with the Boston Bruins, has shocked the sports world. At just 31 years old, Hayes tragically died at his home in Milton, a suburb of Boston. Despite emergency responders’ efforts, he was pronounced dead on the scene.

While law enforcement has not deemed his passing suspicious, the exact cause of his death remains undisclosed. There were no apparent signs of illness leading up to his sudden passing. It was reported that Hayes and his wife, Kristen, had been celebrating their son Beau’s second birthday just hours before the tragedy. Kristen even posted a photo on Instagram around midnight, showing the couple enjoying arcade games.

Standing at 6-foot-5, Hayes played in the NHL for various teams, with a notable stint at the Boston Bruins from 2015 to 2017. He was known for his contributions to Boston College’s NCAA title and his prolific scoring record during his time with the Florida Panthers. His career saw him score 54 goals and 109 points across all teams before retiring in 2019.

Following his retirement, Hayes cohosted the popular podcast ‘Missin Curfew’ alongside former NHL players Shane O’Brien and Scottie Upshall. His last appearance on the podcast was on August 5.

The news of his untimely death has left the hockey community in mourning as they remember his significant contributions to the sport.
