Herrera played his first game (debut) for the Pachuca first team on July 21, 2010, when he was just 19 years old. It was a match against Chivas USA that they (Pachuca) narrowly lost – a lone goal.
After 52 appearances (and two goals) for CF Pachuca in his two seasons with Portuguese footballing Liga MX club FC Porto have come calling.
