Jennie Martin Obituary, Death – Huntsville, MO, mourns the loss of a beloved community member, Jennie L. Martin, 78, who passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Aspire Senior Living in Moberly, MO. Born on July 22, 1945, in Huntsville, MO, Jennie was the daughter of Herbert and Beatrice (Burton) Summers. On July 1, 1972, she entered into wedded bliss with Robert “Bob” Martin at the Huntsville Christian Church. A dedicated member of the same church, Jennie served as a Decan and actively participated in the Red Hat Club. Her commitment to her faith and community was unwavering.
Jennie found joy in various activities, including attending tractor pulls, embarking on travels with her husband, enjoying long drives to appreciate the countryside, attending her grandchildren’s ballgames, and cherishing moments with family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband, Bob, of Huntsville; two daughters, Terri Maddox of Huntsville, MO, Jennifer Martin of Rhome, TX; son-in-law B.J.
Hoffman of Renick, MO; three grandchildren, David Grimsley III of Clifton Hill, MO, Justin Dean of Huntsville, MO, Jordan (Holly) Dean of Salisbury, MO; five great-grandchildren, Austin Dean and Carter Dean of Huntsville, MO, Gavin Grimsley of Moberly, MO, Bentley Clark of Salisbury, MO, Oaklynn Dean of Salisbury, MO; two sisters, Joleta Harlan of Moberly, MO, Marilyn Williams of Phoenix, AZ; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jennie was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Tracey Hoffman. A funeral service in remembrance of Jennie’s life will take place on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 12:30 pm at the Huntsville Christian Church in Huntsville, MO. Following the service, burial will occur at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday morning from 11:00 am until the commencement of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Huntsville Christian Church, honoring Jennie’s enduring commitment to her faith community. The community joins in offering condolences and support during this difficult time.
