Kathryn Janis Grody is an American actress and writer, born on November 6, 1946, in Los Angeles, California. A graduate of HB Studio, in Greenwich Village, New York, Kathryn began her professional career in theater, being one of the most recognized actresses of her time. After multiple appearances, the actress was recognized twice with the Obie Award, given for her career on the Off-Broadway circuit . Following this, Grody wrote an autobiographical novel titled A Mom’s Life . Although her career has been mainly in theater, the actress has also appeared in film and television, in films such as The Rose (1979), Reds (1981), The Other Woman (1988), The Lemon Sisters (1989), Limbo (1999) . ) and in series such as The Baby-Sitters Club (1990), American Playhouse (1991) and Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2005). Since 1980, she has been a partner of fellow actor Mandy Patinkin, who has starred in films such as Life Itself (2018), Wonder (2017), Yentl (1983), among many others.
