In defense of his decision to marry his two girlfriends on the same day, Ghanaian man Michael Houston has taken to Facebook to express his views. On Wednesday, December 20, 2023, Michael took to Facebook to question those criticizing him for marrying both his girlfriends simultaneously. He asked if people expected him to marry one girlfriend and break up with the other. He also cited the example of King Solomon from the Bible, who had 700 wives and 300 concubines, as a precedent for his actions.
Explaining his perspective, Michael wrote, “For the sake of my followers out there i will do a little explanation, I got married to these two beautiful women Adepa Fel Houston and Deejah Houston, and the country went berserk because people couldn’t understand how i made that happen, with many ridiculing the whole show.”He further elaborated on the separate customary rights for marriage that were carried out for each girlfriend and the subsequent blessing of the unions by religious leaders. Michael emphasized the immense support he received from both women, especially during tough times. At the end of his post, Michael defended his choice, pointing to examples from the Bible and stating, “Yeah you can label it as polygamy and what not, but where in the bible did God frown upon it? There are religions that don’t marry or have sexual activity and they don’t ridicule those that get married right?”He ended his post by asserting that his decision was a testament to the blessings of his family and God’s instruction.
