A police operation at a busy hospital in southeast Sydney shut down roads and left some people ordered to stay in the area on Friday.
Officers were called to a carpark on Gray and Belgrave Streets, at St George Hospital in Kogarah about 9.30am after reports of a threat.
Roads surrounding the area were closed while police searched the area, but no suspicious items were located, a spokesperson for NSW Police said.
The operation was still active shortly after 1pm, but the area was declared safe and roads reopened just after 2pm.
A spokesperson for St George Hospital said the facility remained open during the chaos and was operating “as usual”.
More to come.
