Reportedly, Manchester United star Mason Greenwood is intending to marry his pregnant girlfriend after the dropping of sex assault charges against him.
Expecting his first child this summer, the striker was recently spotted with his university student partner outside the five-star Langham Hotel in central London, both dressed in white tracksuits and carrying Louis Vuitton luggage, where rooms can cost around £600 a night.
According to The Sun, the 21-year-old has reportedly discussed marriage plans with his family members.
Following an allegation made against him by a woman, the 21-year-old, who earns £75,000-a-week, was arrested, putting his career on hold.
Greenwood was charged with attempted rape, assault, as well as controlling and coercive behaviour.
However, the CPS decided to discontinue prosecution in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors due to the ‘withdrawal of key witnesses’.
Manchester United will conduct an internal investigation into the circumstances surrounding his arrest and released a statement acknowledging the dropped charges and noting that they will proceed with their own process before determining next steps.
The star has reportedly discussed his future at the club and international level with United’s manager Erik ten Hag, although his future with the club and England’s national team remains uncertain, with reports suggesting he might not be selected again for England by Southgate.
Greenwood expressed relief following the dropping of the charges, stating that he was ‘relieved that this matter is now over’.
