Real Madrid Midfielder Willing to Lower Salary to Stay with Ancelotti

In the midst of reports linking him with a move away from Santiago Bernabeu this summer, Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has stated that he would have willingly accepted a lower salary if the club had requested it.

Kroos was close to becoming a free agent this summer, leading to discussions about a potential retirement. However, the German player decided to sign a one-year contract extension to stay at Madrid.

While it has been reported that Kroos’ salary remains the same, he expressed his willingness to accept a reduced wage if asked by Madrid. In his own words (h/t @MadridXtra on Twitter): “If I have to lower my salary, I would do it without any problem because when you are a Madridista, it is not about money.”
