An intercepted phone conversation from the front line of the war between Russia and Ukraine reveals a woman encouraging her Russian soldier husband to rape Ukrainian women. The call, which was shared on Telegram by Ukrainian security services (SBU), captured the woman instructing her husband to use protection and not tell her about the assaults when he returns home. The SBU described the interception as an appalling reflection of the moral values of the occupiers and their relatives, with approximately 80% of them supporting the war in Ukraine.
The individuals involved have been identified as Roman Bykovsky and his wife Olga Bykovskaya, although they have denied the allegations. In the recorded conversation, the woman can be heard laughing as she tells her husband to commit the acts, emphasizing that he should not inform her. The man confirms his understanding and agrees to use protection. Investigation efforts by journalists and Ukrainian authorities led to the identification of the individuals through their phone accounts.
Further findings revealed that Roman Bykovsky was a soldier in the 108th Guards Airborne Assault Regiment, known for its involvement in the annexation of Crimea. The couple, who have a four-year-old son, moved to the region in 2018. Despite attempts to contact them, Roman denied his involvement in the call while his wife claimed he was being treated in a hospital in Sevastopol before deleting her social media account.
This disturbing incident adds to the alarming reports from the conflict, as a Russian soldier was recently arrested for filming himself raping a baby in Ukraine and sharing the video on social media. Alexei Bychkov, 24, was detained in Russia following the circulation of the heinous clip.
