Ten Hag’s Explanation for Different Treatment of Rashford and Sancho

Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag, has clarified the differences in the punishment handed out to Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, attributing it to Sancho’s decision to make his situation public.

After holding discussions with Ten Hag on Monday subsequent to his controversial trip to Belfast, Rashford is set to rejoin the United squad for their upcoming Premier League clash against Wolves.

In contrast, Sancho has embarked on a loan spell back to his former club Borussia Dortmund, following his public questioning of Ten Hag’s decision to drop him from the squad for a game at Arsenal in September.

While Rashford resumed regular training with his teammates on Monday, Sancho had been training alone for over four months before his departure.

Ten Hag stressed that the distinct approach towards the two players was influenced by Sancho’s now-deleted post on X, formerly Twitter.

“We can address everything internally. Jadon opted to make his concerns public,” explained Ten Hag.
