In a coroner’s court, Mr. Joseph Aloba, the father of the deceased singer Ilerioluwa Aloba (aka Mohbad), revealed that his son had been living with singer Azeez Fashola (aka Naira Marley) since December 2019.
Joseph provided his testimony during the coroner’s inquest into his son’s death.
The musician passed away on September 12 and was laid to rest the following day at the age of 27.
Due to the controversy surrounding his death, the Lagos State Government ordered a coroner’s inquest.
The inquest commenced on October 13 at the Ikorodu Magistrate’s Court in Lagos State.
Joseph informed Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi, the coroner, that he and his son had lived together for 18 years.
He further stated that he was unaware of the precise location where his late son resided with Marley.
Jospeh testified that his son left his home when he reached the age of consent and began assisting Marley while pursuing his own music career.
Joseph mentioned that he had seen his son three days prior to his death.
He also mentioned that he had only seen a picture of his son’s casket.
According to Joseph, his son assured him that he would be able to handle his dispute with Marley.
Joseph affirmed that his late son’s property was under the custody of his mother-in-law, and that his son frequently informed him about his possessions held by his wife and her family.
Joseph claimed that Mohbad’s wife had put sleeping pills into his food during their time living with Marley.
