Tragic Loss for Evelyn Lozada as Her Step Father Succumbs to Covid-19


Following the unfortunate death of her step father Larry due to Covid-19, Basketball Wives’ star, Evelyn Lozada has shared a heartfelt tribute in his honor.

An emotional Lozada posted a picture of Larry in his younger years wearing a New York Mets tank top while cradling her daughter Shaniece Hairston, 26, when she was just a baby.

Lozada disclosed that her step father passed away from the virus on Monday, April 13, expressing her grief with the following message:

On Monday 4/6/20 I lost my stepfather Larry to Covid-19. Larry, as you sit in heaven enjoying the company of God, I say thank you for the great memories & thank you for being the greatest stepfather a girl can ask for! Happy birthday in paradise

Lozada, who was formerly married to ex-Cincinnati Bengals star Chad Ochocinco in 2012, is amongst the American celebrities who have faced personal tragedy due to the deadly pandemic. Her stepfather’s passing coincided with the loss of Minnesota Timberwolves star, Karl-Anthony Towns’ mother, Jacqueline Towns, to complications from the virus on the same day.

As of Tuesday, the US had recorded 604,147 confirmed cases of Coronavirus and 25,829 deaths.
