YouTube TV Secures Rights to Broadcast NFL Games from 2023

YouTube TV wins right to broadcast NFL Games starting 2023

Starting from next year, the YouTube video platform has successfully obtained the rights to broadcast the majority of National Football League (NFL) games in the United States.

According to US media reports, Google, the owner of YouTube, will be paying approximately $2 billion annually over a span of seven years for the privilege to air Sunday games on its subscription-based YouTube TV service, which is currently exclusive to the US.

Subscribers of YouTube TV, currently paying $64.99 per month for a viewing package, will have the option to pay an extra fee to access the games, or they can choose to watch them on its YouTube Primetime Channels platform.

Roger Goodell, the commissioner of the National Football League, expressed enthusiasm for this development, citing that it heralds a “new era of how fans across the United States watch and follow the NFL.”

Goodell stated, “This partnership is yet another example of us looking towards the future and building the next generation of NFL fans.”

The NFL’s official YouTube channel currently boasts more than 10 million subscribers, who regularly watch short videos showcasing highlights from one of the world’s most influential sports leagues.

With an existing subscriber base of over five million, YouTube TV is hopeful that this new agreement will significantly expand its reach.
