BIOGRAPHY
Stellan John Skarsgard is a renowned Swedish actor, born on June 13, 1951, in Gothenburg, Sweden. Son of Gudrun and Jan Skarsgard, Stellan moved frequently, finally settling in Helsingborg, where he studied theater and drama. As a teenager, the young man debuted as the main character in the series Bombi Bitt och jag (1968).

Interested in improving his acting preparation, Stellan would join the group of actors at the Royal Dramatic Theater in Stockholm, where he would remain for just over 15 years, participating in works such as Vita rum, Ett dromspel, Master Olof , among others. While working in theater, the actor alternated with appearances on television, in series such as Farmor och var herre (1983), August Strindberg (1985), Familjen Schedblad (1989) and Vildanden (1989), among others.

Consolidated as one of the most outstanding actors in Europe, Stellan moved on to English-language cinema, in films such as The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988), Wind (1992), Against All Odds and Tides (1996), Friendship (1997), Ronin (1998), Timecode (2000), Dogville (2003), King Arthur (2004), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (2008), Mama Mia (2008), among several others.

The actor has also been part of the Marvel cinematic universe, in the role of Selvig, in the films Thor (2011), The Avengers (2012), and Thor. The Dark World (2013) and Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015). Likewise, he had the opportunity to work with David Fincher, one of the most prominent directors of crime films, in the American adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011).
